I specialize in using natural materials and plant dyes to create naturally dyed felt and textile pictures, objects, jewelry, bags, and garments.
As a child, I always loved making things and also wanted to know how things worked. I studied engineering at university and became a successful professional engineer/ manager with a highly innovative job. As for hobbies, I always knitted and sewed and gardened and got lots of pleasure out of creating and growing.
After our daughters left home, my husband and I moved to live and work in the Netherlands. Here I was introduced to wet felt and my passion was ignited. I studied on-line and via workshops and felting literally took over my life. A few years later I became interested in using plant dyes in my felt work and more recently in eco-printing. Luckily I was able to retire and follow my passions.
As an experimenter and an innovator, I love crossing over techniques and ideas. So now I combine my love affair with felt and my love of plant dyes and fabric to make abstract interpretations of the natural world in objects and pictures. I also dye natural materials to make plant dyed garments.
